Does US to India wire bank fund takes more than 12 days sometime?

Hi all,

One of my clients sent money through wire. It first worked very fine for 2 times and i could receive in my hdfc bank in 2 days. But recently the wire almost took 12 days and it has not yet reached me.

It seems the fund is in US intermediate bank (somewhere in NY).

What should i do in this kind of situation? Does it happen normally?

Have any one of you came across this kind of situation?

I think you had better contact paypal asap..Are you sure the money has been sent?

 

No, the money is not sent via paypal. My client has sent through his bank.

 

Yes it can take sometimes more then 15-20 days as well

Generally is there any reason why it happens like this. Because, i was getting money like almost 12 to 18 hrs gap.

You can go and ask HDFC bank. I think, HDFC is much faster then other like IndusInd, I get money on 30 days in it and in HDFC 3 days.

 

it could be because of the holidays in india/us. Did you check with your bank? maybe they are holding your payment.

With that being said, if there is any problem with wire transfer, usually the money gets sent back to the senders bank.
