Does Unique/Updated Content Establish Amount Per Click?

Hey guys, I had a quick question.

I've got a blog that I primarily make my 1 dollar off of, and
I have noticed a steady decrease in the amount per click.
But, it's been decreasing ever since I stopped blogging on
it. I just recently moved, and I haven't had time to get
back into the swing of things.

Is this the case with Google? If they notice that your site
has no new information, or is dragging in updates do they
    actually lose lower your CPC?

If anyone has the answer, I'd greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks!
    Bryan

    No it is not...

What you make is based on a number of factors but primarily it depends on the advertiser. If he/she is bidding lower for the keywords that appear on your posting then you will make less money.

I guess I am asking then: does Google serve higher paying
ads the more unique and updated the content?

askbryanmiller, this is a question that I have found to be asking myself again and again. I will stop working on my sites for a variety of reasons for a few weeks, and watch a steady decline in CPC and overall earnings. Then, I sit down and work on them for a week, and slowly watch the same numbers increase. It doesn't make sense why, but to me it has always seemed new, fresh, updated content directly, and fairly quickly, relates to increase in earnings.

This sounds like old news, as everyone touts 'content is king'. Most people are talking about long term benefits, but these observations are solely based on short term results.

I do not think that is the case. You may be getting more traffic hence more revenue because of the new/updated content but the amount of money you make per click really depends on the advertiser.

The advertiser can decide if he wants to publish ads on your site or not and how much he is willing to pay: so if they are willing to pay $3.0 per click on google search they may only be willing to pay $0.12 per click on the content network.

I do it all the time because of the click fraud/lower conversion rate with adsense publishers.

    Hope this helps...
