Does Twitter help your business?

I know there is a lot of noise around Twitter and can certainly see the benefit for some businesses. However it seems to me that all sorts of businesses are getting involved. I'm really interested to know what sort of benefit your business is seeing from Twitter?

 

yes , it play important roll to get traffic for your website.

 

Seeing as my business is a Twitter related website, Twitter certainly helps to drive traffic. However, I still get a lot of traffic from backlinks.

 

Yes, it definitely helps to bring on new customers.

 

it does help, after some time you'll have to invest to build reputation along your followers

Yes it did help my business a lot.
I can minimize my advertising cost by only posting new release product information at twitter.

 

Twitter not realy works for me... low traffic from twitter for my websites.

 

We have 2 twitter accounts for 2 different product lines. One does really well on Twitter with lots of interest the other one not so much.

 

Twitter is 0 when we talk about making money from it!! Though it is great for traffic generation!!

 

Thanks for responding guys, What I'm seeing is that you think that it does help drive traffic but it seems that it's use in terms of sales and SEO may be more limited.

So if it does drive traffic, on the flip side, how much time does it consume?

yes, it generates significant traffic. However, it's a LOT of work building good followers and putting together quality posts that run night and day!

 

Well, it has not helped me till now !

I just got a little visitors on my site though via it !

First of all you should have interesting tweets then you will need to follow others so they could see your tweets. Another way you must have a link to your twitter account from your web site, email and etc so to show your tweets to others. if you will get a big number of followers of course it will increase your traffic.

 

It strikes me that all the plus points we've heard about Twitter could be applied to any of the Social networks. The key benefits I can see of twitter are:

1) You're not expected to write as much.
2) Lots of people use it.

Do you guys who are using twitter also use other social networks too?

 

I'm get a little traffic from there and little coin from adtweet too. Pretty decent all around.

 

what do you guys post on twitter to attract followers?

Can anyone give an example tweet which was successful.

I have a blog-like site, so it's content-heavy informational. I post two basic things: 1) updates to my site and 2) interesting new items in my field.
