Does Twitter Help SEO for Our Websites?

I read somewhere that tweeting on Twitter helps your site with SEO. How is this possible?

Does it mean that tweeting is like commenting on an authority blog, and because you have your URL on your Twitter page, you'll get some SEO juice "echoed" to your site?

Or is the real point to just keep tweeting your URL in order to have more links indexed by the search engines?

It's hard to see how "140 characters" at a time can impact your SEO.

 

I think twitter just add more backlinks for your site and if your marketing works, it may drive some traffic to your site

 

If that's the case, I need to start tweeting my direct URL more?

 

Not exactly, Tweet sensibly.. if you tweet with same non-sense tweets, Google may treat this as spam and might not index your tweets anymore..

Yes, quality tweeting helps you getting traffic and back link. Just don't spam the tweet and post convincing tweets so that followers are interested to click on your link.

 

I also observe that my twitter profile have it's own PR and maybe that could help juice up the website I promote with my tweets.

That's true tweeting to anybody can add links to you sites pr....

 

All twitter l inks are nofollow, so not much use for SEO.

Getting knowledge of your site out is always good, but not so frequently that you're spammy,and if it's good, with interesting and useful content then it may get picked up and mentioned in a blog that isn't nofollow.
Url shorterners usually use a 301 redirect, so do have seo value, but, as I said, the places you use them are generally nofollow.

 

what you get from twitter? I think just traffic that we can get.

Twitter helps in fast indexing of your site but never heard helps in SEO, whenever you publish you a Post in your blog, its live in twitter and google bots reads them.

 

Twitter can't help in SERP but it can bring a good amount of traffic if you use it properly.

In twitter USE your link in your website only dont use in tweets

 

If you have many followers(profiles linking to your account) and if your profile is linked by other websites, yes the link is counted, but if you are following 2000 people and only 40 are following you and you put every day links to your website... I am not sure that Google will count the link. You should better write comments that looking for twitter followers, it will help you much more

 

IMO tweeter is used to get online reputation and popularity of your links and work.
Tweeter is a micro blogging site and linking on tweeter is just for gathering traffic it's not to boost PR and etc. etc. because it gives no-follow back links which means spider is restricted to crawl over the link but in the case of Google only.

 

the same principles of back linking applies to twitter
