Well as some of you know i own just-4-teens.com and have been wanting to rank in google for terms such as "teen advice" but because of its sandbox i havnt been able to, so i created an account on a free web hosting company (one that is established and not in sandbox) and guess what google has visit my test page (the one in sig) a total of one (1) time and it ranks in the 30's for keyword "Teen Advice" http://72.14.207.104/search?q=Teen+Advice&hl=en&lr=&start=20&sa=N the only backlinks that the site has got is the one in my sig. also today i introduced some hidden text within the page and i wanna see if i get punished for this or not, so far i havnt but we will see.
Interesting information. Gives me some ideas to test some things out. While I understand there are legitimate reasons for google's sandbox, I think it can be extremely faulty and penalize sites that really should not be penalized.
also i make amistake in the first post i said the test page ranks in the 30's in fact it is 22nd, i would understand if my site was targetting competitive terms and being filtered cos of that but as the page above shows this keyword is not hard to get a ranking for.
Usually there is a new site boost that lasts a few days. Then the site gets sandoxed. Give it a few days and report back. If it is still #22 it will be very interesting.
either ive gone blind or like yfs1 said its been kicked for 6 and sandboxxed so this both prooves that sites dont get sandboxxed because of links since the only link the site has is the one in my sig
I've seen it a hundred times. I think Google does it to be mean...Lets people think they rank in the Top 10 on a new site then yanks it away. Links don't cause the sandbox but they do seem to play a part in the length. I hope, however, you prove me wrong and this site pops back in and stays there
Google likes to see steady growth. If you appear for some keyterms, you need to keep on going and doing what you've been doing or rather naturally excellerate. If no new links come in, they might figgure that there is only one source that likes you and therefor your site is no good.
well im not gonna modify it, just gonna leave the one link in my sig, i might just give the occasional link from one of my sites for a week to gurantee the engines dont forget its there but im not gonna do any link building etc, so this test is all down to see how important on-page stuff is.
i have tried a lot of things and have come to the conclusion that then the only way out is to wait patiently.
I have a site that is 1500 Pages of unique content and is rated a PR 6. Site was registered 13 months ago and links were aquired 9 months ago. Still in the sandbox after all this time. I hard coded the thing and took 1 year to build it. Cost $100000 to build and am still in the sandbox. Now tell me that I shouldn't be angry. As soon as I am released, my life will change instantly, so I am hanging on.
now this does seriously suck and has proved me wrong. and oh guys/girls guess what is being ranked by google, yep my test page is currently 19th http://72.14.207.104/search?q=teen+advice&hl=en&lr=&start=10&sa=N also noticed these hits from google Search Keyphrases (Top 10) Full list 4 different keyphrases Search Percent advice for giving advice to teenagers 1 25 % teenager advice 1 25 % teen advice forum 1 25 % teen advice online 1 25 %
i dont think that question was for me but i know im in sandbox because my site is optimised excatly the same way as my test page and has 300 more text links but recieves nothing from google for that keyword even tho its not competitive.
