Does This Split Link Juice?

I posted a message in another forum, but figured it'd make more sense to ask you link experts.

I write an article for Ezine, in the resource box I have the choice of putting in up to two links. I am targeting one keyword only for the article, is it better to include one hyperlink back to my website for the keyword, or two (when it comes to link juice)?

Some people were saying that I should stick to one because two splits the link juice so I'm doing more harm than good.

If both links point to the same page, the ultimately, it will only count as 1 backlink. However, you can point one at the main page, and one to an interior page to maximize the benefit.

Google will ignore your second link if it links back to the same page as the first.

With regards to splitting link juice, if you look at an Ezine article you will see that there are already quite a few links on each article's page. So you won't be splitting the link juice 50/50 by having two links - your link juice is already diluted by the other links on the page. This means that it's worthwhile using the second link available to you, even if you link to a page you are not targetting for that keyword.

I don't understand why you are using the article to target only one keyword. If you use two keywords, you only have one article to write so it saves you the bother having to write another article just to target another keyword.

if you only have one keyword on your article, then you can link to your site using your keyword once and at the same time using your URL (just the url as huperlink). both link point to the same page but you are getting variation which google loves
