probably traffic is low during Christmas and new year
but that is compensated by many more advertisers who pay more to cash on the festival season

No, not really. If your traffic is low, then of course your earnings will be lower. If your traffic is up, then expect your earnings to be higher.

well as far as this season is concerned, may be you will see decrease in traffic on your website but its dependent on which kind of website you have and what is the traffic per day.

There are lots of publishers who are my clients and they earn around 10k in this festival season, only through adsense.

Lots and lots of factors are being determined before we conclude anything.

Do let me know your thoughts guys ..!!

For the most part everything is the same for me, but one of my sites doubles it's adsense revenue this time of year. It did the same thing last year also. Just the one site I have in it's niche though.

Traffic will probably shift to the more brand name sites for purchases as buyers get there last minute gifts. Most consumers will trust an Amazon or Sears right now instead of a much smaller niche player. They are also too busy for causal internet browsing.

So I expected both lower traffic and ctr for the first 3 weeks of December and that is what I am seeing. In general, many advertisers cut back in December unless they are retailers. And even retailers have already spent most, if not all, of their budget.

Next year, I hope to have one or two holiday related sites to target this time of year. Now is a good time to start working on new projects for January, when I expect a renewed surge of quality traffic (beginning after Christmas.)

I am basing this on my years of publishing newspapers and observing how advertisers use the month of December.

Of course, I am willing to have a great last of half of December just to prove me wrong!

It hasn't happened to me. Has your site's traffic gone down?
