Does this exist? External Firewire to USB device

    I am looking for some kind of box that accepts a firewire connection that I can then plug into a regular USB port or something. I'd prefer this to be an external thing as I have a couple of machines.

    Also if there are any positives / negatives of this approach let me know.

    They make firewire to USB cables. I don't know if that is what you are talking about or not. What are you wanting to use it for?
