    It is backlink (because it links) but it is less effective without anchor.

    The browser wont' read it!but the link still exist, so will a search engine spider read it!? search engines don't use web browsers... they are using spiders!

    Google is smart enough to detect that. It won't be counted for Google. I would bet on it. I can't speak so much for the others, but I imagine Yahoo wouldn't count it either.

    True, I also don't understand why should we try to fool search engines when we are depending on them to bring visitors.

    I agree it will be viewed as cheating
    my auto checker does give a warning .... on this kind of cheating
    it is very easy to be found out.....:D :D :D
