I have two options: 1. taking sitewide link from a site 2. Taking link from the homepage of that site But i have heard that site wide link gives adverse affect in SE?? is that true?? so should i go for sitewide or homepage only..
I doubt that any link has the power to affect you adversely, because you can't control who links to you. My gut feel is that you would only get the value once from a sitewide link, regardless of how many pages your link is on (but I have no evidence of that, it's just a hunch).
If it is a money issue, I would say go for the home page and spend the additional money on obtaining another home page link
No. Getting one site-wide link isn't going to hurt and will probably help in most cases. The facts are that not every link is created equally. So getting site-wide's, getting reciprocal's, getting one-way's, etc... all help in the goal of making your incoming link structure look natural, not SEO'd.
Depends imo, depends on how strong your sites is, how old, how many links it already has, how relative the possible link is. If you have a fledgling site best stick to a single link if it is a choice.
since ip address of the links also plays a role so if you have to choose one then go for just homepage links. but if they are both for same prize then sitewide would definately be better afterall each link have some extra weight.
