Ok, I thought it was funny & wanted to share this with everyone & see what they thought. I spent 2-3 hours working on the Below Caricature Illustration, using a photo provided by the subject them self. In a nutshell, the subject said that the illustration looks absolutely NOTHING like the female depicted in the photo & was total amateurish trash. At any rate, I discontinued working on it & canceled out the project. I will more than likely still use it in a future portfolio for Caricatures (Seeing that I "as the designer" own ALL copyrights to the vector design itself). I am curious though, to get other opinions, How many of you think the Caricature illustration looks like the woman in the photo & how many think it's absolutely NOTHING like the woman & or Amateurish?
I think it does. I also think you might have you missed the opportunity to make it more flattering to the subject. If the shadows on the face, the lines on the neck and the teeth could have been made more flattering, I wonder if she would have liked it. While the caricature does look like the subject, it looks older, more bulky and less attractive overall.
ahh, very good points indeed Zchoose.... I could have altered her true appearance to make it more flattering, very true. I was going for more accuracy & truth as depicted in the photo. I must admit, I may have saved this subject doing what you suggested & making her out to be what she's not. the female species do tend to be fickle when it comes to them self. They are always thinking they're too fat, too Old, etc... So in a sense when they see what others see, it could very well lead to a project cancellation such as this one did Thanks for the feedback PS, don't forget to vote on the Poll....
