I was wondering if the age of the URL matters when it comes to SEO… search engine ranking. Obviously, the longer a website is online, the more back links… but do the spiders rate URL’s by their age directly?
Age of domain in google's index is important, as are the backlinks, as are age of the inbound backlinks, IMO.
IMO, the time of google indexing the site is more important than the age of the domain. So if you have a 10 year old domain thats never been in google, it is much less valuable than a 5 year domain thats been in google for 5 years.
Age of site is very important. But the other factor that I think is huge, is the keyword in the main url, and not in a subpage. For example, www.spyware-removal.com have more weight than www.yourdomain.com/spyware-removal. believe me folks, this is really big and I know first hand
The age of site is VERY important and, IMHO, is the *only* way to get out of sandbox more quickly than anything else at the moment. I think you should read Strategies to Get Out of Sandbox Faster
how old does your site need to be for best SEO practices? I know there is no definite answer here and the older the site, the better. I'm trying to figure out how long it really takes for a site to start getting all benefits of seo due to age factors.
It really depends on your competition. The age of the domain and the links pointing to it are valuable factors in your rankings . But, you cant know say, "in 3 months my site will be old enough to beat my competition" There are too many variables to account for. You just have to be patient and evaluate your competition.
i also noticed this, i have a domain from 2002 but it didnt feature in google until early 2005. from what i can see google treats the site as one which is only a year old.
IMO all the links have their own weight... A link from pr6 will be not good if they have 100's of outbounds and if a pr4 site has only 10 then I would go for that... Manish
I think, usually for old active domain will have a lot of different page information, so google will have much index than new one. But if your domain content does not active with a lot of content, maybe google will not like it. Just my 2 cents
