I have noticed in the past few Google PR udates that about 2 weeks prior to the actual change in the visible PR - Google does a complete backlink update. After that backlink update it seems your PR is "set in stone" so-to-speak. If you have a site that is too new and misses that backlink update you won't get a PR on the visible PR update. Any others have comments and opinions on this? thanks jg123
Your right for new pages to get pr, two weeks before they update the visual pr. There was a post on the forum about this.
Never saw that a visible PR update changed my positions, unless sometimes like Jagger, when algo seems also being updated, so, ho cares PR? If really PR is important for rankings, then digitalpoint is right and is updated every day. tork: What you mean, new sites are now having PR before the PR update? Last summer I saw some webs, and also some reported the same, but didn't find why nor the thread you say.
for those who missed or can't be bothered to click on the blog link supplied by tflight, here's the relevant portion: So the answer to the original poster's question is, "No".
Google's PageRank info is updated continuously, and that really helps the rankings stay relevant. I have noticed that for some terms they can change on a near-daily basis.
There is a difference between toolbar PR and real PR. Toolbar PR is updated ever 3-4 months, Watch the toolbar updates here: http://www.seocompany.ca/pagerank/page-rank-update-list.html Real PR is google's constant calculation of their PR value for your site, its impossible to know your real PR at any time. Another thing to keep in mind is that google updates your acutal visible Back Link count every so often, but your real BL count is much different.
Not sure. Does anybody remember about the RK tag in feeds? I check it almost every week and I believe is real PR. Sad to see me checking possible real PR , but it's no my fault. People is obssesed about PR
Dav, It really is impossible to know your real PR, google does not value every back link the same, and there are many more factors than just figuring out how many back links you have with a certain PR. Maybe, you can guess, but I'd rather spend my time writing content.
Google uses PR to evaluate which sites they should crawl first or more often. the higher your PR , the more often you get crawled.
i also got this fact that my sitewas shoeing pr on one day and next day it was shoeing pr0 why this happen
