Would visitors see it as a less credible site

Prefer to buy from a .com domain?

    Find .info sites less trustworthy

I would like to hear peoples thoughts on this

I've always seen .info domains as giving the impression you don't want to spend much money on your site. Because they're cheaper, harder to remember and not that common, people will often forget the .info extension anyway and accidentally go to .com out of habit.

Get the .com if you can, followed by .net.

Not much to do with saving money

IF you want a key word phrase in a domain and the .com .net .org extensions are already taken, would a hyphenated .com domain be more preferable than a .info without?

Well, I have seen so many good sites with .info extensions but still .com rules. I also heard that .info are favorite for scammers. Because they are cheap.

Registration of .info domain is cheap, but the renewal price is not: the renewal price is the same as .com or .net price at most registrars. Due to their cheap registration price, many .info domains were used for SEO spam in the first year, and then they were abandoned, therefore they may have a lower value in Google's eyes. It is recommended to use .com, .net, .org or a .<your_country_tld_here> domain instead of a .info domain.

I love the .info sites because I can create one for about $1 and test my new ideas. On the spur of the moment I did one for http://www.autotweet.info/

Now it is a pr3 and has earned me > $100 for my $1 investment.

    I like it !
