Does The Google -950 Penalty Exist?

Very good thread to read on webmaster world. I wish I would have found that 1 myself. Thank you.

I don't know if I was hit with this penalty, or something like it, or not, but I see a lot of similarities. All of my kw's have dropped towards the end of the serps in G. A few of them are in the middle, but most are so deep that I can't even find them anymore. The speed of this "penalty" also shocked me, as it was so quick that it could be compared to G flipping a light switch.

I wish there was some way for G to communicate with penalized sites thru webmaster tools to let us know when something is wrong. That would give us a chance to correct it. It's my understanding that Google does warn some sites, but only if they are big ones that Matt Cutts helps out.

 

I had site that ranked very well, but slightly over optimised by adding more menu links (lots).

Site dropped for 2 months. I finally changed back (removed links) inserted a re-inclusion request stating what I had done, within 3 days had my rankings back to the top.

Guess i was lucky for such a quick re-inclusion......

Do you have any reciprocal sitewide links? Does it affect your -950 Google penalty?

And about the same anchor text, I don't think it'll affect your SERPs at all. I have a site which almost all of its incoming links use the same anchor text but I never received any penalty

 

I agree with the anchor text thing... that wouldn't matter. My site has about 300-400 pages, and every one of them has the same header - meaning that there's almost 400 links, with the same anchor text pointing to the same pages. This is common on plenty of sites, many with a ton more pages. So I disagree with the anchor text thing. It wouldn't matter what the text is.
