Does the domain name still belong to me ?

I'd singed up web hosting service with a hosting company. They'd offer and don't charge on the registration for my domain name as long as I continue the service with them.

Is it alright for this arrangement ? Does the domain name still belong to me ? What should I do to make sure it belong to me ?

    Thank you for your advice.

it doesnt belong to you like that. You cant sell it, transfer it, or change nameservers i guess

almost free domins will not belogs to any of client it belongs to the registrar itself. Once if u change the servic then only u came to know it. Better go for any free host or for any host ( free bcs u rdoing testing). Thedn take the nameservers from the hosting account. Go to the registrar account change it to the new , if u can do it sute its belogs to u otherwise may be host disable this option u will be in trouble whil move the host

Hi rena, many thanks for your advice to my concerns over domain name.I'd found out my domain name was registered by the following company :
Registration Service Provided By: Hosting Services, Inc
Is it easy to change the ownership back to me ? You mentioned that - " Go to the registrar account change it to the new...." Are you saying I can change the ownership by myself without informing my web hosting company ?
    Thank you.

They would have to transfer the domain to you. Ask them about it and see what they say. Although, once you ask them they will think you are getting ready to change hosts and may not want to give it to you.

Contact the company, but check the fine print first. I think you should always buy your domain name elsewhere. Your registrar should NOT be your hosting company and vice versa.

Ask your host. Open a ticket or send an email

I believe that says it all, as long you keep your hosting with that host your domain is free. Otherwise you might have to pay registration each year.
