Hi DP members. I have a website with black color background. I read some where in an article that the Google prefers white background over black. Please share your experience.
I believe this is not true. I read somewhere that sites with white background are usually more successful, as they tend to have more credibity than those with black background, but I don't think Google ranks websites as of their background color.
as long as it can be spidered properly and google can see the actual text, i dont think this is a problem...
hmm.. well doesn't make sense why google will not prefer sites with black bg but yes all the successfull and big sites like yahoo, google, msn all use have one thing in common white bg
I don't think a site's background has anything to do with SEO. I think it's just coincidental from a point of usability and the type of sites that use black backgrounds. Large content sites just tend to be based on a white background.
Most probably google doesn't care what's the bg of your site, however it's common sense that black pages are less visitor friendly. I wonder if there was an experiment done about which one converts better
As long as you don't overlay the text of the same color it doesn't matter. Otherwise you can get in trouble.
the spiders carl the links and the contetn of the HTML pages so the bg color and other design feautes dosen make any effect as SERP and SEO purposes
