Does the anchor contents matter?

I was wondering, what is better for SEO.

    1.) www.mywebsite.com

    Or

    2.) My Website

Or does it not really matter? I would think that #2 is better… keywords…

#2 is most definitely better - although almost anything other than "My Website" would be better still :)

Definitely #2 in my opinion. I customize my anchor texts when possible when doing specific keyword marketing. I can change a single textlink and make my rankings shoot up to #1 or #2 in MSN just by adjusting my text link anchor text. It's quite important and should be chosen wisely -- in my opinion.

You need to think about using a key phrase for your anchor text (unless "My Website" is a keyphrase).

see, now you're just trying to show off... :D

    I actually prefer to use
or
s for my anchor texts when possible, to give them a little more emphasis. It's rare that I'd get an opportunity to use it though unless it was on my own site.
