funkymario, great answer - sometimes folks just need to use common sense instead of asking the same questions over and over again.

From my personal experience, it helps. G right now likes anchor text regardless of how crappy the linking site is ... to my amazement, I have seen this for some time now. I think it's also very helpful to wait before blasting out the directories. First attract some solid natural links. Get a little trust first. Then vary the directory anchor text around a little. I emphasize that this info is based soley upon my personal experience.

With my experience, it is not a good way by mass submitting your website quickly in web directories. Now search engines are getting more and more smarter especially google. It will be considered unnatural by search engine if you site getting lots of untrusty links in a very short span of time. And they may apply strict filters over your website. So, it is better to delay the submission process by making it to be completed in a course of few weeks, or even few months to make it look more natural in the eyes of google and other search engines.

It is also very important to creat various anchor texts and descriptions. Many people always make a mistake to use the exact same anchor text and description when submitting their sites to directories, resources, link lists, etc.. In fact, it is completely wrong !! Various anchor texts and descriptions will make it seem more natural so that to avoid search engine's penalty。

In short, It is really crucial to get natural links.. Just my personal viewpoint :)
