May be you are not submitting your links in the right categories. Or may be your stories/articles are not interesting for the others? For me social bookmarking is working great. I am getting good traffic from different SB sites.
Social bookmarks brings traffic beemboy, may be you can create accounts in as much as 20 of the top such websites.
Are you surprised? If so, you shouldn't be. Such sites, along with this overrated, stupid Twitter, brings in very, VERY few hits. Only complete idiots in their own little warped world (and there are a lot of them on this board) says it works. That's one of the biggest reasons why they have dead sites. At least you have seen it for yourself. That's the only way to know for sure. The pros do not even give such noob methods a second glance.
Hi, Social bookmarking needs to be used the right way to work. First of all you need to link to useful content that people what to read. There is no point linking to a sales page. Secondly, you need to link to pages which are optimised for specific keywords. This helps the ranking of your website in the search engines. Traffic will then come from searches because of the backlinks from the social sites. So you will see that as traffic from search engines even though in theory the traffic was generated by the social bookmarking. Hope that makes sense... Sam
Social bookmark sites are for traffic and backlinks... Of course u can take traffic but ur posts must be interesting
You have to have the right kind of site for social bookmarking. If your site isn't the type to go viral, social bookmarking is -not- going to work. Social bookmarking traffic isn't very good, anyway. It's not targeted in the slightest and they normally click out of your site as quick as they entered.
Of course social bookmarking brings traffic, but it has to be good content that makes your traffic want to come back again and again. Gaining targeted traffic is the key, not random visitors. 10,000 targeted visitors who will revisit your blog again are much better than 100,000 random visitors from Digg/Delicious
Bookmarking and social networks you apply to all you can some will not produce some will bring some traffic and some will send loads of traffic this is what I have found it's trial and error till you find the right ones.
Simply adding your website to every social bookmarking site available on the web probably won't get you the long-term results you're looking for. And not every bookmark will increase traffic to your website. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But when it does, you'll definitely notice. Keep in mind who your audience is and who is using social bookmarking sites.
Dont worry, its not worth it. According to my google analytics, traffic from social bookmarking sites has around an 85% - 95% bounce rate. That kind of traffic is not worth my time. If your going to try and promote your sites, do something that gets you targeted traffic. And social bookmarking is not targeted - at least on none of my sites.
social bookmarking can bring targeted visitors - it just depend how your promote it and where you promote it... choose targeted group or same interest people in the networks and with them your information. And traffic will come soon... don't give up dude...
I do social bookmark but noticed that it only drives traffic for some time and then, traffic drops and you have to re-social bookmark. All in all, each time you post an article to your site, you social bookmark it otherwise, it's useless. Prefer to add comments to blogs; write and submit articles.
That's right, I forgot about the high bounce rate. Add that along to the fact that you will get only a few hits here and there, and that's about it.
There are many things on the internet that are overrated. Unfortunately Social bookmaking is one of them. So much hype around it. I am not saying it doesn't work, just simply saying it doesn't merit that much publicity.
