hello. i am a newbie to adsense.and cant say how pleased i am to find thsi forum.i was going to buy some ebooks on adsense .thanks god before that i found thsi forum which is full of experience real member making real money.so i am sure i would found good advice here.i am confused as whether i should make 1 -2 big sites with about 50 - 60 pges or several sites with niche topics of about 5- 6 pages. And how to explore this niche area i mean less competitive area where i acn be sure of making good money.i mean how do member here decide on which topics to make site on. thanks a lot in advance.
Do you consider 50-60 pages to be big?? I'll say this - it's a LOT easier to manage a single 50 page site than ten 5-page sites, and you pay a lot less in domain names, too! PS> My sites range from 10 to 1,200 pages.
use the keyword selector tool, provided free courtesy of our friend Shawn here at DP Take this data, and combine your findings with what you learn by looking at overture's bid tool... look for keywords that get SOME type-in SE traffic but not a TON (a TON of type-in traffic generally means highly competitive) and get a decent per-click on overture's bid tool, and you've got your niche. Don't target mesothelioma for instance, though you may be sorely tempted to do it if you look at overture's bid tool - But the best advice i think i've gained from my months of reading here at DP is find a niche that YOU like. Don't make MFA (made for adsense) sites, make a website that focuses on something you genuinely enjoy - a hobby, something you're good at, etc... contribute something useful by sharing your knowledge with the general internet public and be patient. Add content frequently, keep it fresh, and build backlinks. Welcome to DP VG
The size of my typical niche sites are from 40 to 100 pages (they grow as I continue to add content.) I would focus on niches that your are interested in so that you can continue to add new content. These type sites will payoff better than building a bunch of small sites that you don't update.
it is great to find so encouraging response so soon.so basically wat all mean to say is that we should concentrate on building few sites and continually expand it rather than concentrating on building more no.of sites which may be not possible to manage. and regarding another point about finding niche sites like i should use keyword selector tool and write any keywords there u mean any type of keyword and see if it get decent amount of traffic then build sites around that .should i use overture for that.i mean if i find that not many people visit that site which means less competition for thst site so then it means i can expect a good ranking for that site in search engine so which may ultimately bring good revenues with even few people visting those sites. is this what many members feel that it works.
There are no keywords that work -- all AdSense revenue waxes and wanes as advertisers come and go and as publishers come and go. The most successful sites in the long run are those that work hard in the long run -- don't expect to make a site and have it generate great income forever without any time investment. There are people who get lucky and happy to build a site that profits immediately, but these people are few and far between. If the average "big income" earner told you the truth on how much time they really put into their site(s), you'd be shocked! I know one guy who spends almost 16 hours a day, for the past 12 months, in order to get his site to US$5000 per month. He is only now starting to slow down, but he's told me repeatedly that ignoring his site for a week or two has caused drops in earnings. Google is working hard to compensate those who work the hardest at making original and unique sites with original and unique content. Scraper sites and Made for Adsense sites are starting to see income declines, and so are people who try to target keywords. I don't trust any keyword list or keyword site -- especially those that only show you the top bid for a keyword. The more a keyword's top bidder pays, the more people chase that keyword, the lower income they all get. Good luck!
You are lazy you know? "Generally, a niche is a special place within the scheme of things." (Wikipedia)
Damn!! I always thought that it was a "a shallow recess, especially one in a wall to display an ornament." Oxford dictionary - I've spent the last year making a site on Dry stone walling - oh well back to the drawing board
