    Hi,

New to SEO and it seems overwhelming, like there is so much to be done. I just recently started SEO so my question is, does it ever end? When do you stop using SEO? When you're sites done? When you're No.1 for your search term? WHEN

It appears that it will never end, because that guy in possey number 2 wants your possey so therefore you gotta keep working otherwise someone else is gonna take you spot.

    You will not retire!

    SEO stops when you die!

SEO is something you constantly do; competitors, aglorithmic changes, etc are all the reason to keep your effrots strong.

Its a constant journey and even if you rank number one for a certain keyword you have to persist at keeping the number one position it is something once you have started you just have to keep going.

The simple answer is that SEO/SEM are never a one and done option. The search egines are constantly changing and you must change with them.

seo dosen't stop because it is a competition to the top. and if you reach the top you continue to stay that way.

If you get first for some keyword you will want to be first for another one. You can never be first for all keywords regarding your content so you need optimize more. So seo is something ever building but never ending.

SEO will stop once there are no more search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc.).

Ye it never ends you will need to keep ahead on the words/terms every month, otherwise someone else will over take you.

The process changes because the search engine themselves change and your competition updates their websites. I had a client and SEO'ed their website about a year ago. They soared onto the first page many times over. Yet, a year later they are hard to find on the first page. They stood still as their competition moved past them. They thought one and done was good enough. This is never a one and done situation.
