To be clear.. I started doing seo development via link exchange and I am afraid that those I exchanged links might be using a html frame where they will put my link on their home page so it will look like as it is part of the home page. I don't want to verify the source code since there are plenty of them and it is time consuming. so for example their website's home page have PR3 and they put a div frame coming from a non PRed website where they will put the links. The question is... Will search engine bots read that frame as PR3 also since it is embedded in a PR 3 website or search engine bot will read that as a non PRed frame/website since it came from a non PRed website? TIA
Link exchanges are not worth the effort. And if you want to know what the search engines see just choose to reveal the source code. If it's not in the source code then they won't see it. And it's not likely they will crawl through a frame. Google can supposedly do it through. Look for noindex and nofollow in the header meta tags. Again most link exchanges are not worth the time. And most link checking software is not very reliable. Time to devise a new marketing plan.
Search engine does not restrict itself to just on source they are develop to gather maximum information linked to a particular URL. Therefore both PR3 & PRed will be read and stored in its database.
