I have a website that is a global portal for several countries. Many of the countries share the same language; ie UK & UK. Due to lang. similarities, the content is very much the same between the two pages: www.domain.com/usa/page www.domain.com/uk/page Would ancillary changes to content that lives in the sidebar, for example, be enough to have the visibility of the page move from the US page to the UK page? For several keywords I am tracking, the ranking page goes back and forth between the US and UK page. I am using Webmaster Tool geotargeting, but am wondering if there are other factors in play here, such as QDF. If the sidebar for the UK has been updated more recently, would that be enough to cause the UK page to earn the ranking over the US page?
