    The buttons for the lift where I work do absolutely nothing... It's safer to walk :rolleyes:

    In my college pressing the button on the outside does nothing as they normally stop on every floor due to people pressing the buttons then deciding just to take the stairs.

    Although if you are in the lift and it stops, but no one gets on, if you pressing the button fast enough or with the right timing it will start closing the doors straight after it opens them.

    Why is it that we all do that - getting impatient and pushing the button again and again. Clearly it is not going to helpe!

    Yeh, if you push it 3 times in a row, wait 2 seconds, then say "Abra cadabra" then push 4 more times. It will arrive before you blink. It's a glitch i found.

    I still think about why people assume this is true. At work, it takes the elevator a minimum of four minutes to come up to the fourth floor. I just take the stairs.

    This is just like those people who are waiting for the bus and they keep looking down the road every 30 seconds. It's not gonna make the bus come any faster! lol :)

    It doesn't have anything to do with pushing the buttons fast. Just make sure you don't have someone with you that's fat/big it surely will slow down.
