Does Pretty URL Mod of SMD Cause High CPU Ave Load?

Anyone using PrettyURLs mod of SMF? Is it causing problems to your server? Please share your experience. Thanks.

 

mod_rewrite does add to server load...however it's probably not the only reason you have high CPU load.

 

What could be the other reason or reasons, RectangleMan? Can you name some, please? Thank you.

 

Poor host that oversells? Bad addons. Busy site. Low resources. Poorly configured server.

 

Thank you, RM. Not that busy site, though. I'm using smf with pretty urls addon. Most other forum owners who use pretty URLs did not encounter high cpu load average.
