Is it true that if i have a site with PR3 or 4 and i link to a site that has no PR at all or it has a lower PR then mine, say 2 or 1.... then my site PageRank will suffer? and eventually will decrease? from 3 to 2 or from 4 to 3?

I believe it will do harm to my site.. decreasing the PR.... what do u seo masters think?

No, that is not true. Linking to a site is not "Giving" them your PR.

However, linking to a PR0 site in a "bad neighbourhood" or a site that is completely irrelevant, that can hurt you.

Yup, only incoming links will affect your PR. Outgoing links will not. But as mentioned above, beware of whom you link to, it could get you into trouble with Google.

Think of it like a bucket of water.

PR 6 site is a bucket with more water than your PR 3 site. When they link back, they would fill your bucket with more water than a PR 0 site would.

    Hope the analogy helped.

But when you pour from a bucket, the water goes away.

Bleh, it does, doesn't it. Well, then...

A higher PR site would give you more than a lower PR site. That's all.

no, it will not, it might add to your site's backlinks and may help add to your site's PR too. But for me, I don't consider getting backlinks for PR, I would rather target high traffic sites. :)
