Why don't you idiots visit a webmaster forum where their BST section is pretty dead, where people don't really use their PR as a reason for people to buy links of them, then you'll see that loads of people agree that PR is pretty much dead, it's worth nothing. I'd suggest visiting www.webmaster-talk.com. You've all just been hypnotised by people saying "Selling PR4 links!", "Selling website, PR3!" and all the rest of it. It's understandable that you try and rank PR since you want your website to be worth more on Digital Point but it doesn't affect SERPS.
You are right about that. PR is just really valuable for people who go here in DP. I don't think it's really that important when you are getting traffic from search engines.
Two site everything identical, content, backlinks, age, title, index date, anchor text backlinks. Just one site has Pr5 and one has pr2 because of just one high pr link difference. what you think who will rank Better in serps ? Ofcourse HIGH PR one will rank. If PR was nothing then it would have not been patent by GOOGLE. I also don't believe matt cutts l. he is google champ and knows how to trick webmasters. PR has some weight for sure, if anybody believes it doesn't then best of luck to him.
I think several things. 1) Some people in this thread are very confused they're just posting to increase their post count or something. 2) A lot of people are confused about what pagerank is and how pagerank is acquired. 3) I think that pagerank is still important. It shows us how much authority our webpages have (IMO Authority + Content = Relevancy in search results).
It's not the only question if it has importance but how can pr be converted? So, PR has not much pure SEO weight, neither will improve your positions, but many people like high PR and you can sell links or whatever if it has high PR. Like in every business. No matter if something is low quality if people wants that.
As long as Google continues to invest its money, time, hardware, and highly-paid engineers in calculating PageRank, I will continue to conclude that PR is important to Google. And that's good enough to convince me to ignore ill-informed posts that say, "PR is useless".
I think that it has an importance but nothing like it used to. Of course if it didn't have any importance they wouldn't still have it, and sites like Google wouldn't have a PR 10.
100% true. If PR is nothing then Google would not have Patent it. Why will google waste their time and increase Cost for Updating PR every quarter, If Its Useless.
