Future PR sites are not always accurate. Dont use those and its ok to be a little anxious to know where ones site can go.

I had one site that was predicted to go pr4 with the forums would be a 1. The home page indeed did make it to pr4 and the forums made it a 3. I have sold the site. But heck I went back to it for sentimental reasons. It was my first. *pop*. But anyways, it now says it will make a 6 next round.

Which I find interesting since the site has not made any updates, new info, new users, new links etc. In fact it has falling in the indexing of Google and Yahoo. So this would be interesting on the next round of Google PR.

PageRank is crap - Why? Because in MY life it is...

Don't you love that guys? People who talk about their life being theirs?

    Anyway - It's fluff - It may give measure, I don't care so I don't worry.

If you think back to 1993 or 1995 or whenever - a long time back, you'll see how sites were promoted, people still use the same techniques today because they work... just use the techniques, don't lose sleep over PageRank!

If you want to complain - use the PM - otherwise, compliment me or give a good argument.

    Thanks guys! Rob Docherty - www.thelouisvilleseo.com - www.interceptdesigns.net

PR only has value to me because it has value to others.

To me directly, the only use for having a good PR is sorting on directories. A lot of directories, including the Google directory, sort listings by PR (something I like and wish all did). So, having a high PR is more likely to get you on page one. Being on page one has a lot more value than being on page 13 for link value and actual traffic (from the better directories).

...and of course, some people like to have bragging rights: "My PR is bigger than your PR!" I'm not one that cares about it, but some do.

If you are content with the results generated by your site then PR may not be important to you. But a high PR (3+) should place you on a Page One-Top 10 spot on Google. This should increase your traffic and then improve your revenue if your site is monetised. But, it all depends on what you want from your internet efforts. Not everyone is trying to become a millionaire.

To increase your PR you need to recognise your main keyword(s) and then 'promote' your site using those keywords with, for example, article marketing and posting quality content to lots of Web 2.0 sites. This requires some work but the rewards should be worth it.

PR is a nice pat on the back. It does indicate that your site/page may be crawled more. It can also indicate if your site/page is seen as an "authority" for the related keywords or topic. It can also help if you are trying to sell advertising backlinks or your entire site in general.

Other than that, no PR is not worth much of anything.

Google gives importance to the fact as to how much old a website is. That means the older a site is,the higher is its preference in the list of search results for a particular keyword.
