Does PR really influence your SERPs? I don't think so, it's just optimisation that does: title, keywords etc!!! Backlinks too as a matter of fact. For about 6 months a very important and big site points at mine and it doesn't even show up in google backlink reports with its PR8.
well it definitely helps in Giving importance to the page and Faster Crawl .. there might be very less influence of PR on the SERP results
It helps some but it is not something I pay too much attension to unless I am submitting links to directories. I could list probably about 10 other white hat factors or more on a pr0 site that if done properly would get it to rank higher than one that has a pr or say 1-4.
The PR does not help you reach better rankings. The links pointing to your site do. But the more links are pointing to your site, the higher PR you will have. But anchor text is as important as number of links, so lower PR with keyword in anchor text will usually have higher rankings than higher PR with no keyword in anchor text.
Yes Pr does matter, as its a crude measure of backlinks, and we all opught to know backlinks matter. as far as google reported backlinks go ignore them, they are one of the biggest lies on the internet.
Well, my cousin has a site of 11 pages that has one unrelated backlink. His site has PR4. Just the same like mine PR4 but i have over 2000 indexed pages and very inportant sites like SFgate pointing at me. Does it look like google makes sense with PR? On the othe hand i have 50times more traffic then he does. Thus PR has nothing to do with your site's importance!!!! The backlinks showed by google likewise! as they show my own pages and none of the most important sites. Yahoo backlinks make much more sense.
Hi, From what i told was: the anchor text is one of the most important factor in building your SERPS. If corrected then my question is: -The link under that anchor text when crawled and indexed by G bot will be counting toward as your backlinks for PR as well? Very confused since i read in here SERPS have no relationship to PR whatsoever. Thanks
page rank is only number. when you get links from high page rank sites, your rank goes up. it's a result of backlinks. backlinks help you to get better serp.
Indirectly it absolutely does as directories and list will list your website via pagerank, so there is a snowball effect the larger you get. So indirectly a high PR gets more attention (links) and will boost you.
Ofcourse it does. More _good_ backlinks have influence for pr and positions at same time - so it reflects in both paralelly. (I leave now question if this is true authority, or artifical made...)
From the horse's mouth (Google's official explanation): "Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote." This means it counts backlinks in it's calculations of PageRank. Think of PageRank as one of the results of the number quality backlinks.
based on my Experience it helps... because a lot of my my pages that has a PR. it give my SERP'S Good Positioning...
Then how does it happen that a site with one "bad" backlink gets PR4? But surely enough doesn't get the higher traffic?
