Does PR of inner pages contribute to weight?

    Hello there,

Was wondering, would there be a difference in weight between two PR6 sites which both had thousands of pages (reaching the cap). One of them was very established with hundreds of PR5 pages etc. and the other had mostly PR0 internal pages and only a few PR4s.

Like in calculating weight, is it only the PR of the home page and the mere number of the total indexed pages which counts, or does PR of internal pages also contribute?

Hop that's a clear and valid question.

    Cheers.

Just the pr of the home page is used for calculating weight.

Its a shame it doesn't count internal pages as this more be a better method of calculating the weight as a site with many PR5 inner pages is MUCH more valuable than a site littered with PR0's.

    Thanks

Yeah, on one of my sites in the coop I have about 10,000 pages with PR3+ which counts the same as a site with 10,000 PR0 pages with the same homepage PR, if that makes any sense

It sucks too because I have a PR6 and mostly PR5 inner pages and a PR4 homepage (its only a landing page for multiple sites...)

Something that should be looked at, really.

Knowing Shawn and how quick he is at upgrades and improvements, I wouldn't be surprised, if this is scheduled to be included in a future upgrade.

In order for this to work, the validator would need to check every page in your site. Probably too resource intensive. Maybe an average of the pr when the validator spot checks a site. But since it just selects a random sample this may make your weight swing wildly for each validation.

Yeah... validating every page doesn't seem practical at all.

The current basing it on just the home page PR and number of pages does encourage php gurus, though.... to bring into the network tuns of worthless PR0 page sites with high home page PRs.

Even though I do have lots of PR 0 pages, I think using some sort of average would be a good idea. (maybe with the home page given a higher weight in the average).

I have put 6 sites in this co op ranging from pr 3-6 with an in url count of over 15,000. Each one appeared to weigh in relative to it's pr and size. I was under the impression than Shawn's secret weighing formula incorporated 'inurl:=' and pr value of internal pages  . When you go through validation your site has to get completely spidered because it won't validate if you don't have the code on every page. Is it possible this is already being taken into account?

Regardless, I have notice and overall spike in activity on the domains I am running on. I am going to put a 60,000 page site with a pr value from 1-5 assigned to ever page on the network tonight :) .
