I am just wondering if PR comes only from the link backs acknowledged by google or is it from all linkback ie. msn or yahoo?

Pages indexed in google pass pagerank. Not just ones displayed as backlinks. Google only lists a sample of backlinks so you are getting credit for all the stable links yahoo or msn lists if they are in the google index.

It comes from all links they have pointing to you.... They only report a sample of links that they have pointing to you.

Yes as long as the page linking to you has PR then it will pass it to you.
