It is a nice answer Mr godsofchaos so, do you mean high PR sites focussing on high ,trendy, quality key words, and you said that low PR sites only concentrating in some perticular key words, just assume , if that perticular key word is the main key word for a high PR site, and some low PR sites getting good results with that key word, then what they will do (high PR sites), and the key word that you said "nokia symbian themes" will really help you to get high traffic to your site, adwertising through both signature and key word ,, that's fine...all the best
if you ask me, they are independent to each other, but in your quest of getting high PR and making your links as authorities you gain good reputation in Google's secret recipe for it's ranking thus giving the High PR'ed sites a massive advantage in very high competitive keywords. if PR is not working for SERP ranks, then why the hell does APPLE rank number 1 for 5 years in the term [ computers ].
Yes I agree with you apple is ranked 1 or 2 in Google for the key word "Computer" The number of back Link for Apple is 14,400, So there is a new doubt, is there any relation between Back links and SERP,??
It does. but how much does it affect SERP ? no one knows but G itself. My blog's PR went from 5 to 0 to 2 anf finally to 0 again, yet the traffic from SE remain the same. Go figure.
Yeah, I think PR definitely affects SERPs, along with the relevance of your site to a particular search term, the titles of your webpages, the titles of backlinks to your site, etc. The whole point of PR is for Google to have a way to rank your site. I think the confusion about the relationship between PR and SERPs is that, for one, it's not the only factor in where you show up for a particular search term and, secondly, we are only working with the exported PR's (that Google used to export every 3 to 4 months), not the continually updated PR's that Google uses.
How is it helpful to get more backlinks? I think backlinks are required to get high PR. I also think so...
Quality of content matters not the PR because i seen few site whose PR is 0 and are on the first page for some great keywords leading a PR 5 blog..
I don't think so. My blog penalize PR3 to PR0 but still receive traffic from google. So, don't worry about the PR, but concern to SERP.
Do you guys look at your fuel gauge and say "look it's high, so I will be first at the light!" ?? PR is a gauge.
according to me PR does not have any relation with Google page rank, It just a method of Google of giving a kind of importance to a particular page, nothing else. I have couple of site which have 5+ PR but are not getting at least 10 to 15 unique visitors a day.
In Googles formula PR does have a visible impact on Serps, this is because it is a weight in the formula.
