There have been at least two other threads on this (search bar does work folks) and the consensus in both was NO. There is some debate whether or not PR affects overall earnings viz a viz more traffic.
This is only hypothetical, but what if we turn your question around? I mean if you had a site that was getting a nice CTR would it be in Google's best interest to show it higher in the results? Im not saying that they do that, just a word or two for thought.
You are right kentucky. CTR on search results definately matters in SERPs. If you search for a keyword and click on Link 3 instead of link 1 or you click on link 1 didnt like the site hit back and click on no.3. Didnt bother to come back It simply tells google that you are happy with link no.3 which is more relevant to you. If this continues for a long time, link 3 will eventually move up the SERP. Hope that helps you and others
Yes I am 100% sure that you are correct. I already knew that. I am afraid I wasnt clear enough in my post. What I meant when I said CTR was the CTR on google ads. In other words if Site B was producing a good CTR on Googles ads (earning them money) would it be in their interest to list that site ahead of site B that had a low CTR on Google ads. Again, Im not saying that Google does that. I am just throwing out something to think about.
Whoa! you are right again. Its called Adword Quality Score Algorithm Its determined based on the following: 1) Ad CTR 2) Quality of landing page (ad text, keyword, and landing page) Moreover if your quality is Great, you will end up paying much lower than average Bid amount. Sometimes for a average bid of $1.0 , you would only spend 0.05-0.10. Hope that helps. Reps appreciated!
