Hi all, My site is relatively new. As one would expect it is no where near the top of any search engine listing. When I type the name of my site in google the first thing I see are the postings here at DP where I mentioned the name. Does putting one's url in their signature or putting it in the body of a post somehow help in indexing or count as a link? I'd think not...but then I really don't know. Mike
Yeah they count as a link, they are good for getting a site first indexed but they don't have as much weight in SERPS IMO
try using a keyword phrase for your anchor text in your sig. i.e. {url=http://www.egourmetstore.com}Visit egourmetstore.com - Gourmet Foods, Recipes, Informative articles, and more!{/url} (Replace the { } with [ ])
Sure it does help.. it is a link.. so it does.. infact you should do that where ever you can.. And try to use keywords within..
Dumb Question--- Where do you set up your signiture for your posts? I can't find it under any of the user options... Right now I have to do it manually... I am guessing I have to make 10 posts before I can do a live link? Mr. Thrifty
Senor Thrifty... I think it is 10 posts... After you hit that number...go to USER CP in the top left...and look around
Thanks Roar. Good information. I must admit I am VERY impressed with how helpful everyone seems to be here. Usually the Noobie gets trashed on for 6 months while they are trying to figure everything out. Mr. Thrifty
