Does posting on this forum help me?

I have a website about love and relationships. I know that posting on forums with a link in my signature is supposed to help, but does it help even if I'm posting on here, a webmaster forum, or am I wasting my time?

 

if your only intention to be here is to get link then maybe you're wasting your time
but every link helps, the difference is on the weight/value it brings

 

I am not here to just get a link. Even if I was, why would it be a waste of time? I love creating websites and watching them grow, and I love reading other people's stories and techniques. So to answer this question, it will help even though it's unrelated?

No one can give exact answer how valuable the link will be
Some SEO experts maybe will tell you it's not really valuable since it's not relevant link
But what if a member here click the link, let's say your site is about acne...
then bought an acne product from your affiliate link since s/he has acne problem?

 

Off course it helps, but as vlerian says no one knows by how much. The main thing is signature link make your backlinks looks more natural by adding an extra type of links to your collection.

 

For this you can add your website in your signature. Though this forum is for knowledge sharing but what a problem in enjoying this extra facility if we are getting here
