Does google pagerank apply to my domain or just the main homepage? For instance, I know www.mysite.com has page rank 5. Does blogs.mysite.com also have a page rank 5? Thanks!
Thanks! So then would a link-out on my homepage be worth more than a link-out in my blog? Assuming my homepage has a higher page rank than my blog.
I think the term itself is self explanatory! A page rank ranks (measures) just a page and gives out its results per page. Usually, the home page is always ranked higher than other pages, simply because links directed at your domain name lands on the homepage, passing on the PR juice to it! Regards, RightMan
Ok awesome thank you miakiru! So I'm trying to get bloggers to write about and link to my site. Is it ever the case where someone's blog posts has a higher page rank than their blog homepage? I am trying to decide if it is better to request an blog post with a link, or a permanent link on their homepage - any suggestions?
If you are aiming for PR juice, it is always better to target placement of the link on the home page...imo Regards, RightMan
Thanks RightMan - yep PR juice is my goal! Just curious, is it possible for someone to write a really stellar blog post, which has a higher page rank than the homepage itself? Like blog.com/post123 has higher page rank than blog.com?
I am not too sure on this one but technically, it should be possible if the owner chooses to promote one single article directly at the expense of the domain name... but I am yet to see any example of it in the real world! Regards, RightMan
Inner pages can also have PR but not like the PR of your homepage. For example www.mysite.com has a pagerank of 5 then blogs.mysite.com can have a page rank of 3 or PR 0. It depends if you optimize your inner pages.
