    I think it is still important. Especially when checking the trust rank of a website you're dealing with. :)

    PR is just optional, I don't sell links because I am after ad and PPC earnings for my site. I sell links when I accumulate high PR, but it would take months before I get that kind of number.

    I do not consider page rank in and of itself to be important, however:

    Other webmasters do, so when dealing with them it may matter
    PR is a guideline as to link pop, which is important

    Indirectly - Yes, because many people still live by PR is still good for establishing those hard to get "great" partnerships by flashing some high PR to them.

    PR shows you how your page relates to the rest of the web. Without it noone would know what links will help their rankings.

    All I care is if the site I am linking with has some pr and relevant to my site (or broad enough theme it don't matter) pr means to me that they have decent backlinks themselves and they are not doing anything shady with the serps

    give me all the pr2 - 3 - 4's with traffic over 1 big pr8

    Dear,

    I was reading yr topic pagerank. I am using joomla for my site and i am very busy with seo. But still I can't get my pr up. I have my site: www.oja.nl I have tried to sign my site up at as many possible internet directories, searchengines, uploaded a sitemap to google and startpages, but my pr stays : 1. Now what my question is: Am I doing something wrong at my site? (Keywords, description, title tags) and is the pr update at the same time as the google site indexation update?

    what does it actually do? I have entered my domain and saw a pr: 1 at all the datacenters.. what does that mean? and do you know my questiopn: if pagerank updates at the same time as the google indexation update?
