Hi all i have a couple of sites and they have like PR3 and so, but the traffic is kind of low, and i have some others with no PR with better traffic does, my question is does "Ranks" matter any more?
Not 100 percent sure but maybe its because you are trying to rank the new websites and neglecting the ones with rank. Links will always need to be added on a regular basis. Goggle see's the new links going to the un-ranked sites and not the ranked ones. This is just an idea, I would need more info to totally know the issue at hand.
no mate, i haven't made any work at all on the "no rank" sites, on the other hand i keep working on the "ranked" sites to improve the traffic and nothing.
I don't think traffic and pagerank is closely related. What matters is the content of your sites. If the content is compelling, people will come to you, link to you, etc. Of course, you can always build links. You can expect organic traffic from Google and the likes if you rank higher (not necessarily shown by the Google Pagerank - PR5 could very well rank lower than a PR0 in a certain set of keywords.) Perhaps your high traffic site is getting visitors from social media (Twitter and the likes) or other sources? There are many factors to consider... So, about your 2 questions: - Does PageRank matters? Yes, but not THAT matters - Pagerank show your site's link popularity, but high PR won't guarantee you a higher SE ranking. - Does Alexa matters? Alexa is good as a reference, but it's not accurate. Google Analytic is way much more accurate in measuring your traffic. I personally can't see other uses of toolbar Pagerank (or "foolbar" Pagerank) and Alexa than for bragging and self-achievement purposes - LOL (or if you are selling links, PR still matters) - many advertisers do interested in high PR and low Alexa, though... "YAY - my site is PR5!!! My alexa is 30,000!!!" So what? The real question: Is your site useful and helpull for other people? Is your site actually makes money? PR0 and poor Alexa sites can make thousands of dollar, while PR6 and good Alexa sites can make pennies... My 2 cents.
what really matters is "Targeted Traffic", if your conversion ratio is high & you are making some good bucks out of your site then all is good truly speaking, i don't understand how alexa ranking works? one of site gets 20k per month and its alexa is 200k on the other hand, my other site which i have just started a few months is getting somewhere around 5k per month and surprisingly its alexa is much better, 48K. i don't see any point in this. Also, my site which has less alexa but more traffic per month is relatively good when it comes to conversion ratio.
Your rank in the search engines is more important than PR. Alexa will simply reflect the traffic your site receives.
Pagerank, and alexa rankings don't matter in my opinion. They just help with getting more link exchange partners, other then that they are just numbers. Search engine rankings and SERP are the numbers I care about regarding my website.
What matters is how much traffic and the conversion rate you r getting. And of course where you are ranked on google for your keyword that you are aiming for. PR and alexa don't really matter...they just help you open up to more link partners.
You're right but, even then that traffic is based on small amount of people who are using Alexa's TB, which according to Alexa about 10 Millions from 1 Billion of total Internet users making Alexa's Ranking virtually useless metrics. fastreplies
It matters something to some people, as valuation metrics, but the traffic(positions)/PR isn't correlative for a long time already.
Traffic and rank are 2 different things. PR is only one out of few hundreds other parameters that impact SERP. Content is what matters. Alexa rank can be easily faked, so it is not really accurate.
