I'm thinking of making a utube video with a link to my site, using a page refresher to get the video into the daily top 10 which should translate into more people seeing it and higher traffic for my site. Would this work?
I think youtube, being as big as it is, would have something to stop this. Just make a really good video and hope it gets into the top ten.
it is nothing. even worst you just waste your time try to attract non quality traffic to your video > then to your site.

Yes, the page refresher works but I don't think the traffic will be targeted unless you are trying to promote a generic site, site with general topics with the aim to just build traffic. It is more important to focus on the keywords that you put in your titles, tags and description that helps to build targeted traffic.
What are you guys talking about. Of course it works. It gets you to 310 views not 200. Change your ip address and do it again. If changing your ip is to difficult then just use different computers at the coffee shop or library. 310 per computer isn't bad. It takes about 20 minutes to 4 second auto refresh a vid to 310. An alternative to web refresh is a program called auto extreeme clicker and you van program it to click rewatch after a few seconds of watching. You can have it go from vid to vid in a playlist. The second carries no risk of getting cought. I promise you. Have fun. Btw unlike what someone said more views does bump up your vid. Gl
First the page refresher will have to stay on the page for a little while to count as a view, so lets assume 2 seconds. Now, we know that thats only 1800 views/hour or 50,000 views/day. That and many of those views may not work or youtube may recognize same ip address ect. And thats best circumstance. Now consider top daily videos normally have several hundred thousand views and are also picked in part because of number of likes.... so no in summary, this probably won't work.
Seriously?? I cant believe that youtube hasn't sorted this out. I'm gonna have to head down to the nearest net cafe to check this out for sure. I'll report my findings back
First of all YouTube doesn't analyse ip addresses even if all 310 views are from the same ip. They simply have an exact number of views per ip adress. So naturally you wouldn't ever get 50k no matter what. But if you change ip addresses your veiw limit has effectivly been reset and you can keep viewing.. This would work fine to bump up a vid to get "some" more traffic.... If you want to think about another way that is much more complex... If you take a Trojan virus, a small portal back to the maker through the local Internet-connection, and infect lots of computers, you have huge viewing power. Grasp this. 10,000 infected computers, watching a YouTube vid over and over and its all hidden from their screens, back in a tiny exe file somewhere.You can point your army of zombies to a video and one or two days later.. Bam.. millions of legit views. You can have a more complex virus that works with the other and keylogs any login to Google. Your password is sent to a processing unit usualy the makers computer which has a program waiting for it. It then holds on to it until the infected comp has been logged off Google or just turned off.. Once it sences either one it will sign on YouTube from a proxi sever, thus hiding ip, and actually navigate its self to the vid you specified and like it.... Or even... Yes..click on an add once in a while. This isn't legal. And I don't sugjest learning how. But understand it is possible and there are a few people doing it. You can easily make 500 a month on adds like this with little or no real hacking skill...But the real money is made finding someone that has money and wants a vid to go viral. Weirdos, bands, rich girls talking about stupid stuff, all will pay... Hundreds, Thousands, Hundreds of thousands a year potential depening on your ability... . This about that next time you see a viral vid.... This got deeper than I was going to go. Originally the question can i get traffic with fake views. 100% yes is the answer. You don't need all that hacking stuff. Just watch the 310 views on every computer you can find. The lack of likes won't be an issue if you keep it under 25k... just get everyone you know to like it at least...
