Does Page Rank Matter for Search Position?

I want to know that is page rank matter for search engine position?

I am asking bcoz i don,t know about this. This question arise bcoz

my site page rank is 3 and i search for particular keyword and i found

my site position for that key work in page 23. And one of site for same

niche having Page Rank 2 was in fist page. I am very confused i do many

things to get in higher position but its didn't shake from there.

 

do not worry about it, that may be due to google dance. try some more backlink. your site gonna have be in top search results soon.

But backlinks are important. So I would advice that you use a good backlink analysis tool and check and compare how many backlinks (from different sources and subnets you have - compared to your competition). That will generally point you in the right direction.

 

Initially when My site PR was 0 it show in Page 8 for that keyword then after few days it started to shift and now my site in Page 24.

 

Toolbar pagerank is different from site page rank. Anyways backlinks are important to increase your site positions on Google meaning increased page rank. Sites position in search engine is almost same as page rank.

Actually PR is not matter for search position. You have to see that a site is PR5 but PR2 site is Visitable up. O ha PR is main factor in site value.

 

Well SERP is affected by PR. But I think if someone search using particular keywords then the latest updated sites shows fast whether thay may have a PR or not. Well one of my site having the same situation. It has no PR yet but it shows on SERP 8-9 as I regularly update my site content. So just try updating your content and build link with reelvant high page ranked sites. SERP will improve automatically.

 

yes, PR is one of the factor that affect you SERP but not the only factor.
There are many other factors such as domain name, h1,h2 tag, description, content, backlink etc that are affecting your SERp as well

Of-course page rank matter for search position. But it depends on different point like back link, keyword , content etc.

 

Pagerank may effect your ranking, but it's not "everything", you need to worry about backlinks and link building more then PR and increasing it.
