For a long time, I've bene espousing the FACT that traffic from JV mailings is the highest converting traffic, bar none, even PPC. However, it's time consuming, as is article marketing for traffic generation and link building. It seems to me that onpage SEO (meta tags, descriptions etc..) combined with good linkbuilding strategies is more worth the time and effort because it's "forever" traffic. As long as the links don't disappear, get built up gradually, and those links are posted in the correct categories, it seems to me that getting traffic this way is a better use of time, and it can be totally outsourced, unlike getting JV mailings. Am I wrong, right, half wrong, half right etc...?
On-page SEO and link building do guarantee traffic. But it has to be maintained, too. If you don't check out the competition and search engine trends your techniques may lose effect.
I see, but if I'm not EVER gonna be an SEO guru, is this the best way to build constant traffic? Let's say I wanted to rank well for a search term that is highly compettive, like "internet marketing tools"... Does having 500 backlinks in directories with posted link in correct category going to give me page 1 traffic if my pages are SEO-ed?
>Does on page SEO and linkbuilding guarantee traffic? It is no guarantee. But using the right keywords with a good optimization will most likely generate traffic.
"using the right keywords with a good optimization will most likely generate traffic" Isn't that what onpage SEO is? Not being a wise guy here, just making sure I didn' tmiss anything...
