    Hi,
I have two sites, one without and one with Adsense. msnbot regularly crawls the one without Adsense every day, the site with Adsense doesn't get indexed by MSN for a month. Does not MSN like Adsense?
    Thanks for your input.
    Tuan.

If MSN didn't index sites with Adsense their index would be half its size. :)

MSN does index sites with Adsense without a doubt. It's probably something else unrelated that is causing your problems getting that site indexed.

I don't know how the hell MSN determines which sites to index and which to ignore.

I started 3 different sites around 2 months ago. Each currently has approximately 300 pages of content, and each has approximately the same number of backlinks.

1 site is now well-indexed (for MSN) and the other 2 show only the HTML sitemap. The home pages don't even appear in MSN's index.

    What is that all about?

I really don't know why one is and one isn't indexed by MSN. Difference between two sites is content and Adsense (both have original content).

I've never had a problem with MSN not indexing sites with "adsense" or any other advertisements on the pages. I agree that something else might be the problem or there is no problem at all. It could just be taking longer for some sites to become listed than others. The sad truth is the Internet is growing at such a fast pace right now, ALL search engines are having a difficult time keeping up. Remember that SE's not only have to find and index new pages, but they must visit the billions of old pages on a regular basis to check for content changes and/or removal of the actual page. It's been a long time since I have visited MSN or Google for that matter and got a 404 page not found in their results. I'm sure there are millions of them, but I don't see them that often anymore. Without frequent recrawling of old results this would happen all the time.

Five or six years ago I saw 404 errors when searching more often. My guess is that currently indexed pages are crawled more frequently than in the past and this is causing new pages to be put at the back of the crawl priority system and also why new pages must stay live for a period of time before they are actually added to major search indexes. As a consumer, nothing is more frustrating than doing a search and clicking on a listing of a page that is no longer present on the Internet.

Same problem here. I sometimes think they manually pick sites.

You gotta remember that Microsoft is playing catch up in the search market. Their new search engine has a loooooooooooong way to go and very far from perfect. It should be expected that they will have problems. Heck, Google is the leader by far and they have issues with some regularity.

Well I have allways found MSN search much more responsive than the other search engines.. Might be because I usually run few page sites.. These days it almost never takes more than 24 hours after I submit to MSN after the top pages are indexed.. Comparing to the 1-3 months or more on google/yahoo...

Now I have indicated that MSN bot visits a few pages my site, but no page is shown up in SERPs when searching for keyword, even for domain name. Yahoo and Google at least show my homepage when searching for domain name. So is my site banned by MSN or do I some thing wrong?
    Thanks.
