Hello If i create a High Authority backlink in a website with NoFollow, do i benefit from that backlink?
It won't contribute to DA, but it's still a good idea to have nofollow links. They'll still send traffic your way and also increase your backlink variety. Some people say that a heavy % of dofollow links and few nofollow links is a red flag and can actually be harmful. It's natural to have a balance of both. When you don't, it looks fishy.
How do you know that? Moz have made no statement about the follow/nofollow links and how they are used in the DA calculation.
I'm not the best SEO out there and I don't claim to be, but in my opinion it should not contribute because nofollow don't pass on link juice, but they do pass on traffic. Yet I agree with the secret squirrel and only Moz knows that. (but you can test it out, which will take a shit ton of time to do)
Direct benefits of no-follow links with regards to SEO. 1. They help to create the keyword with the anchor. 2. They prevent suspicion from arousing in case you got too many do-follow links. 3. In the case of High Authority backlinks, yes some. I do know some .edu no-follows have possitive impact on ranking.
Create a balance between no follow and do follow backlinks. This will help you. Also if your are getting backlink through blog commenting in high authority website then it will only pass link juice to your website. Try to create anchor text between your comments to gain do follow back links.
