I have this question for long time, does Niche Research is a must to start an Internet Business? There are some many Internet Marketer around the world and I have heard again and again, research niche, research your niche before you develop or sell your product, but my question is "How many of them did this research ?" All these while, I saw a lot of niche research but who got the best niche market research blueprint. Any comments!!
I wouldn't enter in some niche I don't know well. Keywords, competition analysis, etc. is a must. Otherwise you risk to waste too much time trying to rank for something impossible or selling the wrong products.
In one word, Yes, it's mandatory! Why would you spend any amount of time developing a product if there's no audience for it... granted that there IS an audience for pretty much everything Online, you need to know what they are looking for and more importantly, what are they buying!. If you can find an audience that is looking for a solution to a problem they have AND people are spending money to "fix" it... that's a "winning niche"... and don't over analyze the numbers, if you find that people are buying existing products to solve their problems, it's just a matter of giving them "another" solution! Also, I'm one that doesn't think a niche can be too crowded... it's all about offering a (Q)USP (quality unique selling proposition) Cheers, Pete
It is highly important. In fact, researching for a niche is your first step. You need to know what people are buying, the trend for that service/product and how much people are willing to spend on that product. If you just venture into a niche with no idea on how it stacks up in the market, then you just wasted your time.
Most definitely. You must know what keywords and long tail keyword you have to target or write about. Plus you want to know how many searxhes there are for certain keywords etc
I think you should start in your interests/passions. Make a list of that and then based on your list, search for keywords. You can use google's adwords tool or wordtracker. The result from the KW research will give you an idea on what people are looking for in regard to that niche.
*shrugs shoulders* I don't think it is needed at all. In fact, I think "niches" are overrated. So many want to know what that one thing is. Problem is with niches, I'd be willing to bet that many of the the products, services of today outsell those things. ... If there is such a special area of demand for a product or service ("niche"), that is. Everybody and their cousin buys different things, so why spin your wheels looking into niches? Money can be made. Hell, my girlfriend's uncle buys socks online! What you need to do is to create a GOOD site for whatever it is you choose to do, be a GOOD salesman and have the money for advertising. That's it.
You need to research whatever it is you are going to try and sell. Otherwise how will you know who is buying and how to reach them. Research is key to being successful.
Niche research is important (depending on what kind of business you're planning on starting) But first you might need to understand what "Niche" really means. The best blueprint I can point you to would be here: http://www.nicheq.com You can download Niche Hunting Strategies PDF for free over there. It will give you an idea what it's all about.
Niche research is important. But sometimes you don't have a choice. Say if you are very good at something in that case go for it even if the competition is fierce. Knowing the niche is always good. It will always help you plan your business.
Of course as you have seen from the answers pointed out. You do have to do some type of niche research before starting out. This is because you really have to know what you are doing before doing it. My advise would be find the niche using your interests. Do a keyword search. Visit some of your competitors sites. Write at least 10 articles before starting. This is so you can post 2 a day. I say 2 a day because you will need to be able to get ranked and get ranked quickly with in your niche. Find places to promote your product and or service. You want people to visit your site. Because the more that visit the more chances. So, even if you have a site, and a great product, if no one can find it then your not going to sell. So in reality the only way you can make any money with your product/service is marketing, and you cant do marketing without research. Too much double talk. Im gonna shut up now!!!
