I changed my index page today and I want to know, is the zebra print too distracting? I was looking for polka dots and got impatient...
Mhm...well...for me it's definitely not distracting, but I'm not easy to distract...at least in that respect. Perhaps you should explicitely ask female members of this forum, they might give you a more objective opinion
It would take more than Zebra print to distract me from those images... (pretty biased), I'd go with leo on this one... Ask other female members. I guess they are the target audience?
I realize the pictures are thumbnails, but why not make them fill the entire box/cell that they are in. I don't mind the zebra boarder. In fact I like it, but why have all the black around the picture? And I don't know what these guys are all excited about. All the women I know look and dress just like your models. Nothing new to me
nope, the zebra is fine. the pink is a little bright for my eyes (first thing in the morning here, still waking up), but the zebra print doesn't distract me at all.
i think it might be a little strong. i might consider dulling it just a touch and enlarging the thumbnails a bit more...
The reason is because of the keywords/anchor text that is also in the box. Have you ever tried reading text over a print? Talk about straining the eyes... Yeah, me too. I was wondering what all the fuss was about
Thanks Dazzlin. I've been working on toning down the pink. I was checking out my site (which looks great on my mac), on digitalpoints IBM and realized it looks WAY different/brighter/more obnoxiously pink, on other computers. OOPS!
I assume you are talking about the alt tag text. It shows up in it's own little box and I don't see this as any reason not to enlarge the pictures. You are just wasting a lot of valuable real estate by having so much black. And in addition while you're concerned about the pink, I think the site is too black heavy. Lingerie is suppose to be light and frilly not funeral parlour dirge black. I say enlarge the pictures, reduce the amount of black, leave the zebra stripes and the site will be much more conducive to impulse buying, which is what lingerie is all about.
Compar, you gotta get out in the real world.. Not all dating services use legit pix ! PS - All similarities between my posts and actual events are purely coincidental and a product of dementure
Looks much better Summer - the zebra print looks good, brings the images to your attention (not that they need any attention EDIT: hey where's my signature gone
Shawn - good idea! I moderate on a travel forum, and there are so many people registering and not posting or posting just one message for the signature link. I'm sure I'll soon make up the 10 posts! Darren
Hmmm, I'm beginning to wonder if you can't see the text I'm talking about...Check something for me? http://www.hustlerpanties.com Do you see the text under the thumbnail pictures? It should say "Rockstar Jammies", "Chandelier Earrings", "Hustler Fishnet Shirt", etc. As for the thumbnail size, that's the max size I can use and still get 4 pictures in one row. I see your point on the black issue and I will see what I can do. But, I am trying to be different from every other lingerie site out there. I'm targeting a younger (college age), more contemporary, lingerie customer. No hearts, daisies or rainbows here...haha. .
I like the zebra print effect... in fact, I think you should make more of a feature of it! At the same time though.. reducing the pink against black contrast. The pink could work well in small areas to draw the eye.. but at the moment, I think there's just too much of it.. and it's a bit "raw" (sorry! only word I could come up with! )
The zebra print is not too distracting IMO but, the graphic for your link to categories did not load. Thought you would want to know.
i like the zebra borders very much. i like the metal chainmail bikini very much too! [not recommended for wearing during a lightning storm.]
