    Backlinks is nothing to do with PR.. PR is built with Quality content and hence natural backlinks ...

    Google looks for Quality first and then the quantity. If you can have good PR related niche links you will be able to get more PR to your site. Say, Only one PR7+ link of your niche to your site, is more than enough to get a PR4 from PR0...... I had tested it, it works, But it is very hard to get niche related PR7+ links..... :p

    PR have almost everything to do with backlinks. Someone posted a formula in another thread of how many links were required for each PR. Most likely not 100% accurate, but a good guideline. Cannot help you with a link to it though.

    from our experience people spend too long worrying about what their site's page rank is rather than worrying about what their traffic level is like. I don't know about you but i would rather than a pr 3 site which gets 1000 hits a day that a pr 7 site getting 10 hits a day. Page Rank is nice to have but it is not the be all and end all. Work on developing a good website and then your page rank will take care of itself

    Yes more/relevant/authoritative backlinks equals better page rank. SEO is both onsite and off site when link building you should be placing your keywords in your links example:
    <a href="http://www.yourURL.com">Keywords</a>

    You should also be worried about keyword density and metas when trying to rank well in the SERPs for a certain keyterm.

    i think 100 is good for 3 page rank and above that is good for 4 page rank.
