Hello! I just want to ask something.

Example. Here at DP, the website is: forums.digitalpoint.com

If my Shawn, will SEO and focus optimizing in that link only, will this also contribute in making the main domain.. digitalpoint.com high PR?

Thanks in advance and more power.

I believe that forums.digitalpoint.com and digitalpoint.com are 2 diffrent names for the SE. And each domain name needs development

no, I think what server point says is true. Different sub domain = effectively a totally different site.

But if you link subdomain to the domain some of the link juice will be passed
and therefore there is a benefit to the domain

I would link it sitewide if the sites are relevant to each other

For SE, two of your domains appear as two different sites.

OK, I am quite confused. My current subdomain site will contain lots of articles and the main domain will just be a splash page to link other subdomains.

This will be a hard time for me.

    Thanks for everybody's response.

As far as I know, SEs will definitely treat them as a different domain. Therefore, the two domains will be needed to optimize differently.
