Does location matter?

Is there any mileage in hosting a website in the USA to crack the US market?

A site hosted in Europe is doing great and picking up one or two US clients per month.

Just wonder if it would be worth creating and hosting a site in the US specifically for the US market?

Will there be any advantage SEO wise?

Your site would probably load faster for US visitors if it would be hosted in US.

Pretty sure there won't be any SEO advantages.

I think it does in regards to what google shows you after doing a search. With smaller sites, I would assume that the top listed ones will be from your country first and then other countries.

Yes, it matters in some extent and your site's uploading speed may increase also. It is better to host the site in the country where our target market is.

No it will not affect your SEO

but it may affect your rankings as if user searches for pages only from USA there is a chance that your site might not be listed for that

it matters to a great extent to where your hosted as the search engines give you a hell of a lot of weight towards that country, this doesn't mean you won't rank for other countries though.

So basically if your hosted in the US, you will rank more quickly for .com, if your hosted on UK then you'll appear in the 'UK Only' section and will rank faster for .co.uk results and etc...

TLD of domains however is a different matter
