no, i dont think so....i am not sure what you mean though....if you can explain a bit more, i will try to help you out...
Edu sites have no more weight than the pr they have. Everyone thinks they have more weight but they do not. Some edu links have alot of pr but that is because they have alot of links pointing to them. Alot of edu sites or pages have no pr and do not help that much in terms of links.
This has been proven by Matt Cutter's blog, special TLDs (*.edu, *.gov, etc) do not give any special or extra weight on search engines. The reason links from some *.edu oer *.gov is so good is because they usually have a lot of trusted backlinks, not because it's a *.edu or *.gov TLD. Think of it this way, there are more college student *.edu pages then actually ones produced by the university or college, and majority of them are completely useless and have little search engine weight. Do not concern yourself by the TLD of your backlinks, be concerned about there relevancy & quality.
Theres was a time when .edu and .gov are the least spammed domains. However there are thousands of personal pages in these domains which are of less value today. So, Google knows that backlinks from these domains are mostly from persoanal pages with questionable contents.
